NTC AMERICA SHOWCASES NEW FACILITIES AND NEW PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS

Novi, MI — NTC America, the North American group of Nippei Toyama Corporation, a global leader in laser and machine tool manufacturing, recently hosted an open house to unveil its new Corporate Headquarters and Advanced Technology Center, located in Novi, MI. More than 220 invited guests, including personnel from company suppliers, distributor networks and sales organizations, and customer representatives attended the event. The guests were provided a tour of the 22,000 square-foot facility’s administrative offices, an extensive parts inventory storage area, and a new section devoted to the rebuilding of machine spindles—plus machine display areas with working demonstrations of machining centers, laser processing systems, and grinding machines.
Among the highlights of the festivities was the formal presentation of the General Motors Supplier of the Year Award for 2005, made by GM representative Ms. Darlene Clevenger, to Mr. Hiroyuki Horii, president of NTC. The ceremony marked the third consecutive year that NTC has been so honored, and the fifth time since participation in the program, that the company has earned the award that is indicative of product quality, pricing structures, timely delivery and overall support and service performance.
The Open House also coincided with the announcement by Mr. Horii of three personnel appointments at NTC America, all promotions from within the company staff. First, Mr. Ken Fumoto has been named president of NTC America and is joined by Mr. Masa Nakayama and Mr. Mack Yamamoto, both named to vice president positions.
After his introduction as NTC America president and in making welcoming remarks to the guests, Mr. Fumoto cited the firm’s purpose in establishing the new facilities. "The new, larger space empowers our team members with the resources and tools to better serve NTC customers," noted Mr. Fumoto, "with more extensive technology display capabilities, technical and application support, and with service and solutions that are unsurpassed. Our goal is to be everyone’s supplier of the year, from the largest of worldwide corporations to the smallest manufacturing shop. We believe the new headquarters and technology center is an important element to our achieving that goal."
NTC America manufactures a host of multi-faceted laser systems, machine tools and special manufacturing systems. Among its products are grinding machines including cylindrical, camshaft and crank pin grinders, and special purpose grinding machines, along with multi-wheel and double disc grinders, and centerless grinding machines. The company also manufactures transfer machines, flexible transfer lines, vertical & horizontal machining centers, and specialized equipment for the manufacture of semiconductors. NTC America offers 3- and 5-axis laser processing systems for cutting and welding applications.
